More of California Emma March 2007

After a wonderful month of Emma (and of course Sarah and Matt!), we had to say goodby for a time. We thank God for this precious baby girl!

More Fun in LA!

We've had another wonderful week with Emma and her Mama and Daddy. Sarah was able to take this past Monday and Friday off work, so we were able to spend some special time with her too. I praise God for Sarah and the fantastic job she does as mother to Emma. She is so busy, but whenever she is around Emma, her energy and vitality come alive and Emma responds accordingly. Emma has grown and learned so much just while we've been here. One celebration this week was that she got her first tooth (bottom left!). Now, instead of walking, she is pretty much running. It's a whole new, big world out there and she wants to learn all about it as fast as she can!

On Tuesday, Sarah got tickets for Craig and I to go to the Tonight Show with Jay Leno. That was a neat experience. The studio is in Burbank. The taping for that night's show is done at 4:30 p.m. His guests were Sandra Bullock and Andy Ricter. We really enjoyed the show and he seemed like a nice man. It was interesting to see how they put the show together...stuff you wouldn't realize unless you were right there to see it. Also, as we waited in line to get in, we were amused by the crowd of people who wanted to attend the show too.

On Saturday night, we went to see Matt play with his church basketball team. They lost, but it was still neat to see a group of Christian men having fun. They had really great attitudes no matter what the score.

Today, we went to Ventura, CA to see Mike and Denise Newman, our former pastor from MI. We were able to visit at their church, then went to lunch with them and their son Matt. We were able to spend some time with them at their home also. We had a wonderful time of catching up and relating how the Lord is working in all of our lives. We've really missed them, so it was great to get together with them. God has so blessed us all!

LA With Emma!

We've been staying at Sarah and Matt's with Emma for the past week. Our plan is to be here for the month of March to help with babysitting while Sarah and Matt go to work. We certainly have enjoyed this beautiful, genius child! (Not that we are prejudiced in the least!)

On Saturday, March 3rd Sarah had a birthday party for Emma with many friends and school mates. They used a beautiful turn of the century home called Seaver House on Pomona Campus for the party. It was a beautiful day and Emma really enjoyed all the people and excitement. The theme of the party was "ELMO". Sarah had all kinds of activities for the children to enjoy. I've included some pictures from the party for you to enjoy.

We had a great week with Emma and her parents! She loves to go for walks. We are amazed how she couldn't walk a few weeks ago and now is literally running from place to place! What a precious baby the Lord has given us to enjoy and watch grow. The weather has been beautiful with temperatures ranging from the 70's to upper 80's. I love the sunshine!

This past weekend, we went to San Diego. On Saturday we went to the Wild Animal Park. Emma really enjoyed all the animals. She gets pretty excited even when she sees the neighborhood dog, so you can imagine what happened when she saw gorillas, elephants, and lions. I think she is going to love animals like her Uncle Andy and Grammy.

Another wonderful experience we had, was going to Shadow Mountain Community Church where David Jeremiah is pastor. It is a huge church, but there was definitely a feeling of community and warmth there. David Jeremiah preached a wonderful sermon on John 14:12 -14. I just praise God for these men who can explain God's Word and relate it to believers in such a way that we can apply it to our daily lives. Besides being with our Savior and loved ones, won't Heaven be great when we can talk with men of God like Billy Graham, Dwight Moody, etc? Craig and I are hoping to be able to visit David Jeremiah's church again soon.
