Mother's Day and Motorcycles!

This weekend was the Darlington Nascar Race about an hour and a half from Willow Tree. Roger and Dot Allen and Doyle and Carol Rossow planned a little trip here to Myrtle Beach so the fellas could go to the race and the girls could hang out. They got in on Thursday night and on Friday morning we went to the beach outside Rossows hotel. We loved dipping our feet into the water (it was quite warm!) and picking up shells from the beach. We also went to a place called "Broadway At The Beach". There were lots of little shops to explore. The whole place had water through the middle of it, so we took a little boat ride and watched some Mallard ducks and their babies and lots of big mouthed catfish.

Unfortunately, the race was rained out on Saturday and postponed until Sunday (Mother's Day). Being such terrific wives, we sent the guys to the race on Sunday and went out to dinner at the Olive Garden. We had a great meal and afterwards, I took the ladies to the trailer resort where we played games, talked and laughed. We really did have a wonderful time with Allens and Rossows and hated to say goodbye to them. We will see them in July (Lord willing) when we visit Michigan for the month. We are so thankful for their friendship and caring for us. God is so good to give us friends in so many different places!

Another event that was going on that weekend and the following week was "Bike Week" at Myrtle Beach. There were hundreds of motorcyclists that poured into town. That in itself was quite the spectacle to see. I've included a few pictures for your enjoyment!
