Michigan Friends!

One of the things that were a blessing to us while in MI, was being able to get together with friends. Our only regret is, we weren't able to call or visit with everyone that we wanted to. I feel badly that I didn't get pictures of the Scotts, the Lindkes, and the Gwisdala families to name a few.

It is really neat to think that we have friends all over the country and are sure to make more as we go! Pictured below are Doyle and Carol Rossow, Roger and Dot Allen, Judy Conger and Sarah Jane Foster, and Ron and Diane Barrett.

House Work # 2

Below are some of the good, the bad, and the ugly outside pics of the rental house. Please pray that we can sell this house to a family that would take care of it and enjoy it.

House Work

Although we were anxious to see family and friends in MI, we knew that the bulk of our time, especially Craigs, would be to assess the rental house we own in Port Huron, correct the damages, and then put the house up for sale. Through the grapevine, we had heard that our previous renters hadn't really taken care of the house or yard. We were appalled to see the damage both inside and out. Below are some of the inside pics. They really don't do the real thing justice.

Below are some of the pics after we were done repairing, changing, and cleaning up the inside of the house. It literally took us weeks to do all this work. Craig spent a lot of time under the house bolstering the floor with jacks. A water leak that we hadn't known about had caused sagging of the floor. The house was much better after he did this.

Happy 80th Birthday Grandma Maxwell!

On July 21st, Craig's mother turned 80 years old. She was feeling much better. The family decided it would be nice to have a birthday lunch at the Olive Garden. She was up to it!
We had a wonderful time. I also was able to take a picture of Scott and his family (Craig's younger brother).
I think Grandma Maxwell was just happy to be with her four children for this memorable event!
God has been so good to this extended family and we are thankful for each one of them!

Michigan and the Maxwell East Family

I forgot to mention a campground we stayed in on the way to Dayton. It was in Beria, KY. It was pleasant and we met some nice people while camped there. There was a lot to see and do there. It is a huge craft oriented area. Craig especially enjoyed watching a lady make glass beads from scratch!

After Dayton, we started on our way to MI our original home base. We were especially
anxious to see Craig's mother, Ruth and his dad, Gordon. Ruth had fallen a few weeks
earlier and cracked her pelvis. She had a hospital bed set up in the middle of their
living room. After we were there a short time, other family members started to arrive. Jane, Greg and Elizabeth (Craig's sister and family)and Paul, Marlene, and Kris (Craig's older brother and family). It was good to touch base with them after being away for two years.
