Springfield, IL

Before leaving St. Louis to head out west, we took a day and went to Springfield, IL. We went on a tour of Lincoln's home and neighborhood. We had done this years ago with our children. Here are a few of the pictures. Lincoln and Mary lived here for 17 years and made quite a few improvements on their home. When they bought it, it was one story. Even today, it would be a nice home to live in.

We also went to the Lincoln Museum in Springfield. It is only about four years old. It was excellent historically speaking. It was very interesting in that they had life size figures and real life size log cabin and white house. If you ever get the chance and you enjoy Lincoln memorabilia, you should go visit.

We finished our visit to Springfield at the Lincoln family tomb.
