Waiting with the Vissers

We were glad to be able to spend some time babysitting Emma and their cat, Linus. It's been fun spending time with Emma, Sarah and Matt as we all impatiently wait the arrival of baby boy!

Residents of Texas!

We hardly got to Pomona and we left again to fly to Huston to become residents of Texas. It was a quick trip but we got a lot accomplished.....driver's license, car, truck and trailer plates, voter registration, donor cards, etc. We stayed in Livingston where our mailing address is located. We went to the Escapees park to see if we would ever like to stay there for awhile. It is a definite possibility! It was a huge place. We enjoyed the flight back as well. We got some great pictures from the airplane. We were thankful we made it back before the baby was born.

Another Journey...

After leaving Todd's, we headed very early in the morning to Pomona KOA where we are going to winter. Since Sarah's Dr. had told her the baby might come at any time, we were anxious to get there.

Once again, God's creation was so amazing. We saw several different orchards as we drove. I think the one in the picture was an almond orchard. We're so thankful He has given us eyes to be able to witness all of this. We need to remember to always look up!

The campground is in an area of Pomona called the Fairplex. The Los Angeles County Fair grounds are also here. It is a huge complex. The people seem very friendly and it is a nice campground. The RVs are a little tight next to each other, but really not too bad. We have grass and shade trees! The weather is beautiful. We were invited to a camp luau where we met quite a few people. Some people have lived here for 10 years! Others just stay for a weekend or so. We did have to rent a spot to park our truck. We probably won't be driving it much now. I will post more pictures of the campground soon. God is so good to us. What more could we ask for?

We were so happy to see little Emma and her parents! Sarah and Matt and Emma came to see us at the campground. Emma seems to love the trailer. She especially likes to get on our bed and have everyone play "Nite, Nite" with her! Now we await Baby Boy Visser's arrival!

Time Flies

How quickly our month with Todd flew by. A few days before we left, Todd and Gerry ordered us a sheet cake!!! They were so good to us in so many ways. The biggest surprise of all was one night when they came to dinner at the trailer, Todd brought in a new sewing machine for me! I couldn't believe it. It is so much nicer than the one I had. I was truly in shock. Another time, he brought Dad the complete set of DVDs on "The War" and the book "The War"....all about World War II.

A couple of days before we left San Fran, we met Todd and Gerry in the financial district of San Fran where they work. We got to go into Todd's building and see where he works. We also went to a movie and had dinner. What a wonderful, memorable time we had with them. It was hard to say goodbye, but we know they will be only about seven hours away and we will be able to see them again pretty soon. We love you guys! Thanks for everything!

More Wine Country Pics Plus a Road Sign!

Along the way, we stopped and had a picnic in a pretty little park next to a Gazebo.

Beautiful, beautiful country. Thank you Todd and Gerry for sharing God's beautiful creation with us!

Shopping

Todd took us to several places to shop. One day we went to an Outlet Mall and Winco ( a discount grocery store). We also loved going to Costco. We even got flu shots there!

One weekend, Todd and Gerry took us to wine country in Sonoma Valley. The landscapes were beautiful! Although we didn't drink, we enjoyed a tour of Sterling Winery. We rode on cablecars up to the winery. The views were breathtaking. I have lots of pictures of that!

Fun with Todd and Gerry

We also did a lot of eating! Todd was so good to us in all the meals he prepared. As far as I'm concerned, he is a gourmet cook! He certainly didn't learn any of it from me. I had fun watching and helping him. We also went to some neat places to eat. One of our favorites is just a couple of blocks from where he lives called "The Burger Joint".

We played games a lot both at his house and our trailer. I think his favorite is still "Phase Ten" , but we taught him "Golf" and we all got kind of addicted to that too! They were over to the trailer on the 30th of October when our trailer shook a good bit. Come to find out there had been a 5.6 earthquake at 8:05 p.m. The epicenter was just north of San Jose about 25 miles southeast of us. Praise the Lord no one got hurt. It was kind of neat to experience it. We had felt one before when we were in San Fran in February.

Busy At Todd's!

Almost from the moment we arrived at Todd's we were busy doing all kinds of things. One night Todd and Gerry took us to the San Fran Symphony where we heard a Chopin concerto and a pipe organ symphony. It was beautiful to hear. I can't even imagine what the music in Heaven will be like! Besides, the symphony hall was gorgeous in itself. They also took us to the Berkely Theater to see a play called, "After the Quake". It was about the aftermath of an earthquake in Japan and how a little girl and her family overcame the experience.

Dad also wanted to help them out in the condo, so he was able to install some shelves, door curtains and do some painting and electrical. I made the kitties a couple of cat quilts. Dad also made Todd a grand piano out of stained glass.
