How We Love Our Kids!

Craig and I were so excited when we found out that Andy and Becky, and Todd and Gerry were coming to meet Max and see Emma, Sarah and Matt. Of course, we knew they wanted to see us too! The time went by too quickly, but we had a great time seeing and catching up with them. We enjoy watching them interact with one another.

It was a beautiful weekend. We went for a walk on the Pomona College Campus. I've also included a picture of Sarah and Matt's residence. It is on the corner of a residence hall. We sat outside on their patio for awhile too. The patio is enclosed with a brick wall. It really is a beautiful area to live.

We are so thankful to our Father for how he has blessed us as parents and grandparents. He is Faithful and Good!

Giddy-Up!

One Saturday morning, Sarah called to see if we would like to go to the Santa Anita racetrack. We all know that Emma loves animals and we thought we could get up close to the horses.

It was a beautiful morning and we had a great time. They even had a playground for children which Emma really enjoyed. She was so cute when the horses ran by. "Go, go, go horsies!", she shouted as she waved her arms and clapped her hands. Max seemed to enjoy the outing too in his dreamy way.

The Rose Bowl Parade and Happy New Year!

We brought in the new year by celebrating with the Vissers until 9 p.m. We figured it was midnight on the east coast and we were tired, so that was good enough for us!

On New Year's Day, the weather was absolutely beautiful, so we decided to go see at least part of the Rose Bowl Parade. We went near the end of it, so we didn't have to leave too early in the morning. We missed about 10 minutes of it. Emma just loved it and waved with Grammy when the floats went by. It is amazing how everything on every float was either flowers, seeds, or grasses. The colors were brilliant, the floats were huge and we had a great day. Even Max waved! (Notice the Stanley Cup in the last picture!)

China Town

Since Matt had a couple weeks off from work due to the holidays, they thought we'd have fun riding public transit to China Town. It was really chilly, but we had a wonderful time. It was just like the movies! We had lunch at a delicious Chinese restaurent. Sarah bought her and I a bamboo plant at one of the little stores along the way.
